"The Life in a Day" video series is designed as a creative challenge for local skaters to put together an interesting video in one day. By working within a limited 24-hour framework, the skater is forced to rely on intuition, experience, natural abilities, and creativity. The ultimate goal is to illustrate an honest portrait of the skater and their surroundings--to capture how they skate, how they think, how they interpret public space and architecture, and, most importantly, what skating means to their life. Instead of sitting down and having the skater express to us in words what all of this means to them, I'm encouraging them to show us with their skating.

In collaboration with All You Need Skateboard Shop in Oviedo, Spain
The Plaza De España (PDE) is Oviedo, Spain's premier skate spot. Acting as the daily meeting grounds for local homies like Alvaro Ruiz, Carlo Consiglio and skateboarding visitors, like Adam Michael Terry. Adam spent a summer in Oviedo and captured his time skating and meeting locals at the PDE.
As Adam skated through the city he also searched for record stores and sounds, as inspiration in composing a soundtrack utilizing these Spanish finds.
FOUNTAINavm and Oviedo's own skate-shop "All You Need" team up to release this multi-media memoir. A brief look into a skate scene, a skate spot, and the international personal connections made through skateboarding. Terry's "Sketches" de PDE attempts to push the form of skateboarding content and explores the possibilities of combining music, art, and personal experiences.

COMPOSITION, MUSIC INSTALLATIONS + LIVE SCORES
"Interpreted Landscapes" at Modern West Fine Art (2020) - The Interpreted Landscapes exhibition at Modern West Fine Art in Salt Lake City, Utah features works inspired by artists who create unique and varied approaches to the long-standing tradition of the landscape. I scored a soundscape for the gallery space that created an atmospheric experience for Michael Naminga's exhibition.
"Guerrilla Girls Retrospective" at Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (2020) - I composed and performed a live score with Bassist Chelsea Pearl Laterza for the opening of the exhibition at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. The composition's intent was to enhance the Guerrilla Girls' work by avoiding the same audio range of women's voices to keep the conversational nature of the work at the forefront of the exhibition. The speaker placement on the ground helped to keep the ear/mouth air space uncongested by the score.
"Ye Olde Destruction" by Thomas Campbell at Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (2019) - I composed and performed a live film score to Thomas Campbell's Ye Olde Destruction screening at Utah Museum of Contemporary Art on November 7, 2019. I created an ensemble of experimental musicians Ian Camp, David Payne, and Josh Stippich to perform the live score. The compositional framework was based on melodic themes, various modes, and improvisation. The live score was a combination of predetermined ideas and matching action to what was happening on the screen. The soundtrack revealed elements of Minimalism, Free Jazz, Hardcore Punk, Ambient, and various World music inspirations.
